This workshop is for you.
You—the 40-something wife, mom, and career woman who's feeling isolated, but has no time for a social life.
You—the 30-something new mom struggling through the postpartum seas, rocked by emotional highs and lows, feeling like you've lost your identity and unsure who you're meant to be now.
You—the compassionate, generous extroverted butterfly who finds the time to plan every birthday party and girls trip, but has no energy to take care of yourself.
What if you had just a few close friends you could rely on. Ride or die types who will drive across town to deliver your favorite sweet treat and hold you in their arms when ish hits the fan. What if when you need a shoulder to cry on or a hand to hold, you had it without even asking? It's not only possible, it's essential.
You're not meant to do life alone. Community is vital to our wellbeing, growth and—let's face it—mental stability. It might seem elusive, but community can be cultivated. Maybe no one ever taught you how, but it's not too late. It just takes a little time and a few simple tools.
Learn the tools in the Build the Village Workshop.
We're all aware just how rampant the loneliness epidemic is. But the problem isn't isolation—it's disconnection. We're missing true intimacy and belonging. But we can change that.
Assessing how you feel cared for, what you expect from friends and your own capacity for relationship right now, we lay the groundwork for having an open and honest conversation about our expectations and needs.
Learn the skills to showing up in any season, whether grief, crisis, transitions or conflict and leverage your unique strengths to care for your community.
Quit trying to rely on your memory and white knuckle your way to being a good friend. Leave the guilt behind with simple and actionable systems that help you remember and show up for the important stuff.
Put what you've learned into action by discussing your desire for deeper relationship with your friend group. Commit to providing mutual care sustainably with aligned expectations and create your village.
Far from a relationship guru, I've struggled through making and maintaining my own friends. I've had to learn through trial and lots of error, what it takes to have community. Spoiler—it doesn't just come from wishful thinking and good intentions. You have to create it for yourself.
With degrees in social work and ministry a background in coaching and asset-based community development, I've come to see and appreciate the importance of having a village you can count on. Lets build community together!
